Sweet Steak Marinade for a Delicious and Easy Dinner

I know it’s been a minute since I’ve given you a recipe, but I’m going to make it up to you with my delicious and sweet steak marinade. I made this steak for New Year’s Eve, and I have to tell you, I had a foodgasm.

This steak was so good, I bit into it and cheered for myself! I know, that sounds so crazy, but it was really that good. Also, the choice of steak made a huge difference as well. I normally go for a nice sirloin, but for this delicious and sweet steak marinade, that cut wouldn’t do. I splurged a little, and went for the ribeye. You can choose whichever steak cut you like, but I do think the Ribeye soaked up the marinade a little bit more and really melted in my mouth.

Also, I used a cast iron skillet which I think really made a huge difference. I cook my steaks medium-well, which was optimal for this delicious and sweet steak marinade. I didn’t want it to dry it out and I also don’t like to have a mooing cow on my plate either! But, of course, cook it to your liking and this marinade should still do well!

Stove Seared, Oven Baked Steak

This is also my other secret to the perfect steak. Well, I don’t think it’s much of a secret. My mom told me to do this and I’ve seen it on many cooking shows. Cooking a steak on just the stove is hard. You want the pan to be hot enough to get a good sear, but you will have trouble finishing it in the middle. Then you get a burnt steak and a runny middle. Gross!

My suggestion, would be to start your steak on the stove, and after you get the sear you want, throw it in the oven to finish the middle to your liking. You can cut through and eyeball it, or you can use a thermometer! Below are your target temperatures.

  • Rare – 130 to 140°F
  • Medium Rare – 145°F
  • Medium Well – 160°F
  • Well done – 170°F

Now, for the best part: the recipe! I let the steak soak in this delicious and sweet steak marinade for about 24 hours to make sure it was all soaked up. Throwing it in the morning of should do the trick too. I also used this same marinade on the shrimp I served with the steak and it was the perfect addition.
